Hacis doubles business with Expeditors

August 5, 2014 by PLA Editor

Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) – the added-value-logistics subsidiary of Hactl – has more than doubled its business with Expeditors Hong Kong, with the provision of its Airport Direct Export service to the major logistics company. Expeditors is now the largest customer for Hacis.

Hacis has been providing its Airport Direct service for Expeditors’ imports since 2000, including breakbulk, cargo handling and sorting to house air waybill level. Now, Hacis is also handling Expeditors’ major airfreight exports business – including export cargo handling, storage and delivery of cargo to all terminals at Hong Kong International Airport.

In addition, Expeditors now uses Hacis SuperLink China Direct bonded express road feeder services to re-export cargo primarily to Huangpu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou on the Chinese mainland. By adding export processing and re-exports to China to the import services previously provided by Hacis, Expeditors has successfully streamlined all its operations and logistics processes at the airport by bringing them into a single location, Hacis said.

Expeditors is a leading global logistics service provider headquartered in Seattle, and has been expanding rapidly in Asia Pacific. “Hong Kong is an important hub for Expeditors in Asia and a primary gateway to mainland China, said Koh Mong Pheng, senior VP – sales and account management (Asia Pacific) for Expeditors. “In the past 10 years, Hacis has been providing consistent and efficient services to us. I believe that, with the consolidation of both import and export services under one roof of Hacis at Hactl’s SuperTerminal 1, we can provide even more efficient services to our customers.”
