Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in August handled 5.68 million passengers and 34,840 flight movements, representing year-on-year growth of 15.8% and 10.2%, respectively, with passenger traffic reporting a new daily high since the pandemic. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) released the air traffic figures for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for February. During the month, traffic peaked on 2 February, which was within the Chinese New Year period, as HKIA handled about 195,000 passengers, reaching another new daily peak after the pandemic and indicating a return to the pre-pandemic peak level. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) released the air traffic statistics for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for August 2024. During the month, HKIA handled about 4.92 million passengers, representing a 23.0% year-on-year growth, while cargo throughput was up 10.6% to 406,000 tonnes in August.
