Myanmar National Airlines celebrated the delivery of its first next-generation B737-800 leased from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing arm of GE. The celebration also marked the first all-new Boeing aircraft to be delivered to any Myanmarbased airline. The airline plans to expand its network outside Myanmar with the introduction of its B737, starting with Singapore this coming August. This will be followed by an additional four cities in the Asia Pacific region by early 2016.
Myanmar National Airlines, previously Myanmar Airways, was founded in 1948 as Union of Burma Airways and is one of Asia’s pioneering airlines.
