Transputec will provide round-the-clock protection of WFS’ air cargo and ground handling operations, supplying the tech and services in collaboration with ThreatSpike Labs.

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has partnered with IT services provider Transputec to boost cyber security monitoring across its global network which comes at a time when safety and security have become even more important as vaccines start to roll out.

Transputec, who also launched its own thermal scanner, will provide round-the-clock protection of WFS’ air cargo and ground handling operations, made up of 21,800 employees at 171 stations in 22 countries across five continents.

The IT provider will supply WFS with the relevant tech and services in collaboration with ThreatSpike Labs, a cyber security intelligence company. And a team of cyber security experts will provide 24/7 monitoring to help resolve security risks or incidents.

“Safety and security will always be WFS’ top priority to underpin the vital services we provide for our airline customers at airports around the world,” said Pedro Garcia, group chief information officer at WFS.

“We take this responsibility very seriously and are constantly reviewing our systems and processes to ensure they are fit-for-purpose against potential threats and to protect our business continuity,” he added.

WFS in October launched a taskforce to prepare for the global transport of COVID-19 vaccines. The company last month secured GDP certification of its pharma centre at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
