dnata and Cebu Pacific Air expand partnership across Asia Pacific

dnata and Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), the Philippines’ largest carrier, have expanded their partnership in Asia Pacific with new and extended contracts in Singapore and Australia.

dnata has been selected to provide ground handling services to the airline at Melbourne Airport (MEL), and a multiyear extension to an existing contract will see the company continue to provide cargo services to the airline at Sydney Airport (SYD).

In Singapore, dnata will support the carrier’s cargo operations and provide ramp and passenger handling services at Changi Airport (SIN).

“After five years of a successful partnership in Sydney, we are proud to become the ground handler of choice for Cebu Pacific Air at two additional airports in the region,” said Dirk Goovaerts, dnata’s regional CEO for Asia Pacific.

Cebu Pacific, which has not been spared from the impact of Covid-19 on the passenger business, said it is on the lookout for ‘transformative’ opportunities after reassessing its network last year.

“Last year, we commenced a network-wide review of our supply chain arrangements, including our airport, ground and cargo handling contracts,” said Michael Ivan Shau, operations chief.

“We believe this move to consolidate contracts across the region with a trusted partner will further support our path towards recovery.”
