MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo) is set to launch a new door-to-door service in partnership with DHL Express Malaysia which will be available starting 24 April.

The service will utilise a web portal to allow customers to get a quotation, book for delivery, pay online, print the consignment note and track the shipment. DHL Express Sdn Bhd will provide the back-end services of picking up and delivery of goods to recipients.

“MASkargo’s business model has always been on the airport-to-airport concept. However, the evolution of customers’ purchasing style and expectations in the delivery of goods purchased today has highlighted the need for us to be closer to our customers,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh, MASkargo’s chief executive officer.

“After many discussions related to the technical details of this new service, we are pleased to have found a reliable partner in DHL. With the objective of making this service a comprehensive end-to-end solution for the public, we hope to leverage on each other’s expertise and network in giving the best delivery service to our customers” he added.

The cargo division of Malaysian Airlines and the express operator inked a ‘partnership of excellence’ at a ceremony held at the Malaysia Airlines Berhad Academy in Kelana Jaya. Signing for MASkargo was Ibrahim, whilst Julian Neo Poh Choon, managing director of DHL Express Malaysia & Brunei signed on behalf of DHL. Also present at the ceremony was Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, MAB Group chief operating officer.

“Customers today are always on the go and they want their products faster than ever before. This partnership with MASkargo couldn’t have been better timed as we leverage our presence in over 220 countries and territories worldwide to provide our insights and expertise to customers looking to harness the opportunities afforded by e-commerce,” stated Julian.

DHL recently released a white paper that predicts strong growth in the B2B e-commerce market, with 80 percent of B2B sales interactions between suppliers and professional buyers expected to take place digitally by 2025.

The door-to-door service will be available to the public on www.mhd2d.com from 24 April 2021 onwards.
