FedEx Express has launched a new shipping solution in Singapore that allows guest shippers and one-time users to send single-package shipments with greater ease and flexibility.
With the web-based platform FedEx Ship Manager Lite, shippers can drop off their parcels or packages at stations and world service centres in the city state and fulfill the paperwork, such as airway bills, shipping labels and invoices, through their smart phones and devices.
The move comes as the accelerated growth of e-commerce continues to spur shipping demand across borders in Asia Pacific, and FedEx is looking to tap into this market by focusing on online customer experience.
“This new shipping option offers our guest shippers an innovative mobile shipping experience. It also reinforces our commitment to sustainability with the ultimate goal of zero paper airway bills,” said Audrey Cheong, regional vice president, Southeast Asia operations..
With the new solution, shippers can fill out their shipment information on their smart devices and create a QR code to present to station agents when dropping off their packages.
The platform is now available in Singapore and will soon be extended to shippers with a FedEx account. The company plans to come up with new offerings for repeat shippers in the coming months.
