Nippon Express Belgium obtained the good distribution practice (GDP) certification for its air and ground forwarding operations at Brussels Airport.
The new accreditation includes inventory control at the forwarders’s facility in the airport’s cargo area, showcasing compliance with GDP standards for the proper distribution of pharma products.
The forwarder also signed a partnership agreement with pharma logistics specialist Medexi, which owns a dedicated pharma centre at Brucargo. It obtained GDP certification for its operations at a Medexi-owned temperature-controlled 2,000-sqm facility that can accommodate both refrigerated (2℃-8℃) and constant-temperature (15℃-25℃) storage.
“Belgium has become a hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and development, hosting numerous global pharmaceutical companies as well as contract manufacturing organizations, vaccine manufacturers and biotechnology research laboratories,” the company said in a statement.
