ECS Group’s Korean subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo (GAC) Korea, has been chosen as the GSA by Korean hybrid service carrier, Air Premia, in its home market.
Both operating out of Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul, the two companies have signed a Cargo General Sales Agency Agreement (GSA) which will see GAC Korea fulfil the daily operational duties for Air Premia, including cargo sales, reservations, and ensuring the handling of regular and full charter flights. ECS Group will represent Air Premia for international expansion.
The Korean hybrid service carrier will launch a new Los Angeles route in August of this year, and start flights to Tokyo Narita (NRT) in Japan in the same month. ECS will also be opening an office at LAX to manage sales for North and South America.
H.E. Shin, CEO of GAC Korea, said the company has been supporting the carrier since its inaugural passenger to cargo (P2C) flight out of Seoul to Singapore (SIN) on 24 December last year.
To date, GAC Korea has assisted with Mango B787-9 charters between ICN and Bangkok (BKK) since 6 March, with a total of 22 operations planned every Tuesday and Sunday until 22 May 2022.
Air Premia serves SIN twice a week with P2C flights, and operates the same flights to Ho Chi Minh (SGN), twice a week. The airline plans to add two B787-9 aircraft each year until 2025 and grow its fleet to 10 by 2026. It also plans to operate wide-body freighters.
