Dr. Stefan Schulte will remain the CEO of airport operator Fraport AG for another three years, or until 31 August 2027, as part of a decision taken by the supervisory board today on 15 September.
Stefan, who completed qualifications in banking and economics with a doctorate degree, began his career at Fraport AG as the company’s chief financial officer, alongside the role of deputy chairman in April 2007. He has served as Fraport’s CEO since September 2009.
Under his leadership, he initiated the group’s target of carbon-free operations by 2045. He will oversee the turnover of infrastructure expansion projects that are underway in Frankfurt, Lima, and Antalya.
“We believe that Dr. Schulte will set the right priorities for the future of the company and its employees, while further reducing the pandemic-induced high debt,” said Michael Boddenberg, supervisory board chairman.
“We expect that he will make strategic adjustments where necessary and will conclude some major projects to drive growth.”
