Atlas Air Worldwide last week announced the appointment of Martin Drew as chief strategy and transformation officer, effective September 25, 2023.
Drew most recently held the SVP post for global sales, marketing, brand and cargo at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi, where he was in charge of Etihad Cargo and part of the airline’s leadership team.
In his new role, Martin will be responsible for driving strategic growth and diversification across Atlas Air’s services, geographic footprint, and partnerships.
“Martin is a highly recognized leader in aviation and will be an incredible asset to our team as we leverage our diversified business model, unrivaled global network and best-in-class assets for long-term success,” said Michael Steen, CEO of Atlas Air.
“His vast experience in cargo and passenger operations, entrepreneurial leadership style and solutions-oriented approach will help guide the company to new heights.”
Drew first joined Etihad Airways in 2005 where he spent 18 months working with Jet Airways to grow the airline’s cargo business as vice president for cargo in Mumbai. He also oversaw Etihad’s activities in Europe and Americas as vice president in charge of passenger sales, marketing, and alliances. Prior to that, he held senior roles with Lufthansa and DAS Air Cargo.
