January 13, 2025 by PLA Editor

Pharma.Aero announces the addition of six new members to its global network of life science manufacturers, and supply chain logistics stakeholders. CEVA Logistics, Skandi Network, SCL Cold Chain and Shipex NV are joining the community, bringing their extensive expertise in logistics and temperature-sensitive cargo management. Pharming Group and ARTBIO have also joined as members of the Life Science Manufacturers Advisory Platform, adding their significant contributions to the biopharmaceutical and biotech sectors.

“As the Chairman of Pharma.Aero, I am delighted to welcome six new members to our ever-growing global network”, declares Trevor Caswell, Chair of Pharma.Aero.”Each new member enriches our community with specialized expertise, enhancing our collective ability to address the genuine challenges faced by the healthcare supply chain. From advanced logistics and temperature-sensitive cargo management to biopharmaceutical and biotech innovation, the diverse capabilities of our new members represent a significant step forward in our mission to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable healthcare delivery worldwide,” added Caswell.

CEVA Logistics is a world leader in third-party logistics, offering a broad range of end-to-end, customized solutions in contract logistics and air, ocean, ground and finished vehicle transport in 170 countries worldwide.

Eric ten Kate, Global Sector Leader – Healthcare at CEVA Logistics: “The CEVA Logistics team is excited to be joining Pharma.Aero as a full member. The platform allows us to collaborate with different stakeholders in the pharma supply chain and contribute to the overall mission of improving the quality of pharma logistics.”

Skandi Network is the first European active temperature-controlled distribution network focusing 100% on healthcare products, combining the capabilities and know-how of leading domestic GDP specialists in 28 countries. Operating across Europe, from the UK to Turkey and from Poland to Portugal, the Skandi Network partners transport more than 14 million temperature controlled shipments, ensuring that essential pharmaceuticals and life support products are delivered safely and efficiently in a sustainable way.

Rudy Smets, CEO of Skandi Network: “We look forward to our pivotal collaboration with all Pharma.Aero partners to address the ever-growing demands and complexities of the pharmaceutical logistics sector”.

SCL Cold Chain is a North American leader in temperature-controlled warehousing and transportation, specializing in pharmaceutical and medical device logistics with FDA and CEIV Pharma-certified facilities and a unique hub-and-spoke LTL service model.

Bryan Severin, President of SCL Cold Chain: “SCL Cold Chain is looking forward to joining the Pharma.Aero community, and collaborating with its members regarding the increasing demand for final mile TC LTL solutions. We believe TC LTL to be the fastest growing sector of an increasingly complex vertical.”

With over four decades of expertise in global ocean container transport, Shipex N.V. has established a strong reputation for providing tailored logistics solutions across a range of industries, including frozen foods, chocolate, seeds, plants, and—most recently—pharma, healthcare, and medical devices.

Frank Duysters, Pharma Business Development Manager at Shipex N.V.: “With its expertise in temperature-controlled ocean reefer shipments and GDP-compliant practices, Shipex NV is well-positioned to contribute significantly to multimodal projects. These include initiatives focused on shipping pharma by ocean, Air-to-Ocean (A2O) conversion, and promoting sustainability by reducing CO2 emissions through ocean transport. Additionally, our advanced IT innovations streamline processes and provide real-time solutions, offering added value to the pharmaceutical logistics chain.”

ARTBIO is a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company deeply rooted in a long-standing scientific legacy of pioneering work in radiation therapy, originating from groundbreaking research conducted at the University of Oslo and The Norwegian Radium Hospital.

Daniel Rossetto, Head & SVP Supply Chain and External Manufacturing, ARTBIO: “We are pleased to partner with Pharma.Aero and join the Life Science Manufacturers Advisory platform in our united vision to advance the development of life-changing and innovative treatments across the world. ARTBIO is focused on building a novel distributed manufacturing approach for alpha radioligand therapies to be able to deliver therapeutics to the bedside reliably and quickly. We believe working with Pharma.Aero will help strengthen our supply chain capabilities globally.”

Pharming Group N.V. is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients with rare, debilitating, and life-threatening diseases.
