Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, is proud to announce that it has received two prestigious accolades at the Payload Asia Awards 2026: Ground Handler of the Year – Asia-Pacific and the Digitalisation and Innovation Award. These recognitions underscore AAT’s strong performance in cargo operations and its ongoing efforts to advance digitalisation and innovation across the air cargo value chain.
The Ground Handler of the Year – Asia-Pacific award recognises AAT’s consistent delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable cargo handling services. Serving more than 60 international airline customers at Hong Kong International Airport, AAT has built a strong reputation as a trusted cargo partner through service excellence, customer-focused solutions, and continued investments in technology and infrastructure.
The Digitisation and Innovation Award highlights AAT’s success in modernising cargo operations through technology adoption and process innovation. Key initiatives include the deployment of the cloud-based COSYS+ cargo management platform, the electronic Shipment Release Form (eSRF) that digitalises the import cargo collection process, AI-powered CCTV monitoring and AI-assisted X-ray screening solutions, autonomous electric tractors and the trial of exoskeleton technology to enhance frontline safety, security and efficiency. These initiatives improve productivity, strengthen safety and security standards, enhance customer experience, and support more sustainable cargo handling operations.
“These awards are a testament to the dedication, passion, and professionalism of our team, as well as the trust and support of our customers and business partners,” said Mike Chew, CEO of AAT. “As the industry continues to evolve, we remain focused on delivering reliable, high-quality cargo services while leveraging technology and innovation to create value for our customers and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a leading international aviation and logistics hub.”
