HAECO expands engine maintenance capacity in Hong Kong with new workshop

July 24, 2026 by PLA Editor

HAECO announced the opening of Engine Workshop No. 5 at its Hong Kong maintenance base, further strengthening its global engine support capabilities in the Asia-Pacific.

The new facility features three dedicated engine maintenance bays, increasing HAECO’s total engine bay capacity in Hong Kong to nine. The additional capacity supports advanced engine services, including Trent XWB module swaps and LEAP engine support.

“Engine Workshop No. 5 represents a significant investment in HAECO Global Engine Support’s future growth in Hong Kong,” said Corné van Rooij, General Manager of HAECO Global Engine Support. “The expanded capacity strengthens our global engine support network and enhances our ability to deliver flexible, efficient and high-quality maintenance solutions to customers across Asia-Pacific, including the Chinese Mainland and beyond.”

The workshop forms part of HAECO’s “front porch to full house” strategy, expanding the range of engine solutions available from Hong Kong and bringing responsive, high-quality support closer to customers’ operations. Designed to accommodate growing demand for new-generation engines and more complex maintenance requirements, it enhances the scalability of HAECO’s engine support network while strengthening workforce capability through training on advanced engine platforms.

HAECO Global Engine Support provides 24/7 on-wing and near-wing engine support, inspections and repairs through its HKCAD-, EASA-, FAA- and UKCAA-approved facilities. Its capabilities cover all major engine types across Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and Europe, with services including engine storage, lease redelivery support, borescope inspections, general visual checks, inventory assessments and engine preservation.
