The International Air TransportAssociation (IATA) has urged the MalaysiaAirports Holdings Bhd (MAHB)and Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport toengage airlines in effective consultationswhen deciding on airport charges, Bernama News Agency reported.
IATA said that there had been alack of transparency in determiningairport charges in Malaysia and consultationswith the airport users were”not effective”.
“There have also been no responses to letters sent to the Ministry of Transport,” IATA said, responding to a recentreport quoting MAHB as saying thatlanding and parking charges at airportsin Malaysia have not been increasedfor 25 years and are the lowest in theregion.
