Malaysian courier firm GD ExpressCarrier Bhd (GDEX) expects its netprofit to double in the fiscal year endingJune 30, 2007, with an expandedand fully automated facility to handlehigher business volume.
The company posted a net profitof M$1.2 million (US$341,440) on arevenue of $45.9 million for the yearended June 30, 2006.
"We expect net profit to grow by70-100 percent this (fiscal) year, withrevenue growing in the range of 20-30percent. The better results are mainly due to additional facilities and increasesin the capacity of our existingfacility by threefold," GDEX executivedeputy chairman and chief executiveofficer, Teong Teck Lean said.I
n the last fiscal year, the companyinvested some M$7 million to M$8 millionin upgrading its existing networkand infrastructure in Malaysia, whichincluded expanding its warehousespace in Petaling Jaya by another 70,000sq ft and automating it.
