Beijing Capital Airlines has embarked on its first ever long-haul flights, connecting two Chinese cities with Copenhagen twice weekly with A330 equipment. The airline, which is a subsidiary of HNA Group, commenced services from Hangzhou to Copenhagen on 3 September, followed by a new Beijing-Copenhagen service on 6 September. These new routes mark not only Beijing Capital Airlines’ first European flights, but also the first services directly linking the Danish capital with mainland China.
The carrier currently operates 51 aircraft on domestic and short-haul international routes, mainly serving the leisure market, but the carrier has plans to build a long-haul fleet of 30 A330 and A350 aircraft over the next five years, allowing it to expand its Europe, North America and Southeast Asia network.
