More capacity for shipments by air between China and Central and Eastern Europe is expected as Budapest Airport (BUD) welcomed two new freighters at the air hub in December.
China Eastern Airlines has started regular cargo operations between Shanghai International Airport (PVG) and Budapest following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two airports this year. The Chinese airline’s A330-200 passenger freighter will operate twice a week, providing much needed capacity during the year-end peak.
Meanwhile, another A330 full freighter aircraft, which was bought by the Hungarian government from Qatar Airways last year, has begun regular services between Budapest and Zhengzhou airport (CGO). It will be operated by Wizz Air and will fly three times to add more capacity for export-import air freight between the two air hubs.
