ECS Group’s Cargo Digital Factory and Wiremind have recently unveiled a new venture to support the air cargo industry by providing players with tangible technology.
The French connection will focus their efforts on digitalising as many air cargo processes as possible through its new venture CargoTech.
CargoTech will bank on the mix of successful solutions from both companies, including Wiremind’s SkyPallet software which helps stakeholders in cargo volume evaluation and flight planning.
The two divisions will jointly develop other digital solutions to expand the product portfolio as the new venture looks to tailor fit individual products not only for airlines but GHAs, GSAs, and freight forwarders.

ECS was an early customer of Skypallet and helped enhance the product as a key user, and the two share a common ambition to remove the complexity and manual work on the user experience.
“We believe that whatever can be digitised should not remain manual but are also aware that not everything can be automated. ECS Group offers solutions for both scenarios.
“Whatever requires human expertise is covered by our New Abilities portfolio, whereas CargoTech takes care of automating and digitalising routine processes to reduce costs and optimise revenues while fostering innovation” explained Cedric Millet, ECS Group chief strategy & digital officer.
“Our solutions are modular, and customers can subscribe to one or several products as required,” Millet adds.
CargoTech supports one of the four pillars of ECS Group’s new augmented GSA concept, comprising commercial, technology, sustainability, and new abilities.
ECS last year signed a long-term agreement with CHAMP Cargosystems at IATA’s World Cargo Symposium. This week Payload Asia learned that SITA has already taken the whole stake of the company’s joint venture with Cargolux.
