In an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday, chief executive Christoph Mueller described Malaysia Airlines as a "ship that has many leaks”, but added that the monthly profit was a sign that things are on the right track saying revenue has improved and costs are down, underpinned by low jet fuel prices. Global FTKs grew by 2.7% in January, but momentum flat: ICAO

According to the latest update from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) freight traffic - expressed in freight-tonne-kilometres (FTKs) - grew by +2.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in January 2016, +1.9 percentage points higher than the growth in December 2015. LATAM Airlines Group forges unified cargo brand

LATAM Airlines Group has announced the creation of a new, single brand for its cargo affiliates. The new LATAM Cargo brand will unite LAN Cargo, TAM Cargo, LAN Cargo Colombia and Mas Air, becoming the largest cargo airline group in Latin America. Korean Air launches daily Incheon-Okinawa pax service

FIATA continues its membership growth adding 38 in March

The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA)  has announced 38 new members in March. "This reconfirms the trend that has been witnessed in recent months where FIATA is joined by a considerable number of new individual members every week,” the Geneva-based organisation said. Zhengzhou’s Xinzheng Int’l growing fast on the cargo front

China’s Zhengzhou's Xinzheng International Airport is now the country’s ninth-largest cargo airport in China, handling 370,000 tonnes of cargo in 2014. This volume has grown from only 85,800 in 2010 on the back of 40 per cent annual growth.
