Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has announced it will stop flying cargo into Brussels and will instead shift the 5-6 weekly cargo-flights, amounting to 40,000 to 50,000 tonnes, to Maastricht-Aachen Airport in the Netherlands. Changi sees Sept rise in cargo, first nine months flat
Singapore Changi Airport handled 155,100 tonnes of airfreight in September, 4.9 per cent higher than a year before. Passenger traffic registered a 3.9 per cent year-on-year growth to 4.42 million passengers while aircraft landings and takeoffs grew by 5.3 per cent to 28,460. E-progress in September, global penetration now 34%
In September 2015, e-AWB global penetration is at 34.1 per cent, up by 2.4 per cent from previous month making this the second month with over two per cent growth. Ethiopian Airlines (ET) were the growth leaders in September with an increase of 8.5 per cent reaching 63.2 per cent e-AWB penetration. Hong Kong warns “extra vigilance” over lithium batteries
Following four recent incidents of dangerous goods occurrences involving undeclared and/or mis-declared lithium batteries in air cargo that were exported from Hong Kong, the Special Administrative Region’s Civil Aviation Department (CAD) recently told forwarders, handlers and airlines to exercise "extra vigilance”.
