A passenger waiting to board his flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport captured a video of a bolt of lightening hitting a Delta Airlines aircraft as it waited during a ‘ground hold’ at the airport as a result of a torrential downpour on 18 August. Unaffected by the lightening strike the aircraft later took off and reached its destination of Las Vegas without incident. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) marked a significant milestone in its vision to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Air Traffic Management (ATM) with the inauguration of the ATM Research Institute (ATMRI) and MITRE Asia Pacific Singapore (MAPS). PAL to add direct A340 service Cebu-LA
Philippine Airlines announced plans to launch direct flights between the Philippines’ second largest city of Cebu City and Los Angeles. The service will commence 15 March 2016, to coincide with the national carrier’s 75th anniversary and will operate three times a week using an A340 aircraft. SATS to set up e-commerce hub at Changi for SingPost
