Aéroports de Paris has announced that DB Schenker is to double its total footprint at Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Lufthansa Cargo accident in Riyadh
A Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 freighter had an accident on 28 July at 11.38 am (local time) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The freighter, Flight LH 8460, was on route from Frankfurt to Hong Kong with stopovers in Riyadh and Sharjah. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced international scheduled traffic statistics for June which showed continued strong demand growth as the industry recovers from the impact of the global financial crisis. Compared to June 2009, international scheduled freight traffic showed a healthy 26.5 per cent improvement while international passenger demand was up 11.9 per cent. Changi Airport sees ongoing growth
Cargo movements at Singapore Changi Airport in May totalled 153,098 tonnes, an increase of 14.7 per cent on the same month last year. For the Jan-May period, airfreight movements were up 17.3 per cent to 728,794 tonnes. Aircraft movements rose 12.4 per cent, taking the number for May to 22,151 and the total for the five months to 106,177, up 9.6 per cent.
