Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has released its throughput figures for May showing an 18.6 per cent decline in throughput year-on-year to 177,980 tonnes which represents a modest improvement over April’s 22.5 per cent year-on-year decline to 174,809 tonnes. EUROPE & CIS: Fraport reports slight pick up in May traffic
Frankfurt Airport’s (FRA) traffic during the past three months continues to provide optimism as the drop in aircraft movements, as well as airfreight and airmail continued to slow slightly, Fraport said in a statement. Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd announced its tonnage throughput for May 2009 was 37,039 tonnes, down 31 per cent compared with the same month last year with AAT general manager, Planning & Services, Nelson Lee pointing to the opening of Fedex’s new Asia-Pacific Hub at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport as playing a significant part in the weak tonnage performance. WFS wins LTU Int’l cargo contract for Miami
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has announced it has been awarded a threeyear contract to provide cargo handling services for LTU International in Miami. The German airline operates five flights a week during the summer and four services a week in its winter schedule between Dusseldorf and Miami.
