Ethiopian cargo terminal set for operation by April ‘17
Ethiopian Airlines Cargo Terminal, which is under construction currently, has reached 82 per cent completion and it is scheduled to be operation by April 2017, the African carrier said. The first phase of the Addis Ababa terminal cost around US$150 million, according to a report by Ethiopian News Agency. The terminal will have an capacity of 1.2 million tonnes of cargo including facilities for perishable goods. Qatar Airways Cargo is to begin a twice-weekly B777 freighter service from Doha via Luxembourg to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Quito with a return via Miami. The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) has criticised the decision by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport and Regional Development (HMWEVL) to provide fee incentives for new airlines establishing services at Frankfurt Airport. American Airlines Cargo benefits from B787-9 on int’l routes
American Airlines has launched its international B787-9 service between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Madrid Barajas (MAD) in Spain, offering cargo customers up to 36 LD3 positions, or 12 pallets, depending on the market. The B787-9 is also currently operating from DFW to Sao Paulo (GRU) and, in January, will be added to the DFW-Paris (CDG) route.
