TIACA’s Doug Brittin to step down end of the year
Doug Brittin, secretary general of the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) since 2013, has advised the Board of Directors that he will retire at the end of this year. A selection committee, under the direction of TIACA vice-chairman Sebastiaan Scholte of Jan de Rijk Logistics has been established and has commenced the process to review and recruit candidates. NokScoot to expand fleet with seven B777-200s
NokScoot - the Thai-registered long-haul, low cost carrier joint venture between Thailand's Nok Air and Singapore Airline’s Scoot - is set to strengthen its fleet and support its growth plan with the acquisition of seven more wide-body aircraft. China Eastern to begin Qingdao-San Francisco service
China Eastern plans to begin direct service between San Francisco and the northern Chinese east coast city of Qingdao on 29 September, according to Routes Online. IAG Cargo has announced the start of two new short haul freighter services designed to offer greater connectivity to its global network. ASL Airlines B734 operating for DHL overruns runway in Milan
An ASL Airlines B737-400, on behalf of EAT Leipzig, on behalf of DHL on a freight flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Milan Bergamo overran the runway at Milan Bergamo's Orio al Serio Airport amid thunderstorms and poor weather early Friday morning local time.
