China Southern rapidly grows to a dozen B777Fs
The new freighters will be put into operation in early July on the routes from China to the US and Europe, the carrier said in a statement. The US route will see Guangzhou- Los Angeles served four times per week, while the Europe route will see Guangzhou-Paris-Vienna increased to three times weekly. IATA figures give pessimistic outlook
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that growth continued to slow in May. Compared to May 2014, growth in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) was 2.1 per cent, the slowest rate this year and outpaced by a capacity expansion of 4.3 per cent.
