India’s state-run Airports Authority of India (AIA) announced that it will build cargo terminals at 24 airports, subject to feasibility studies. In its latest cargo briefing report, the AIA says the facilities will be developed over the next couple of years. ‘First’ fire containment cover granted TSO by FAA
There has been a dramatic rise in in-flight cargo fires. In response, on 1st July 2014, the FAA issued TSO-C203 to provide a minimum standard by which manufacturers can design, build and supply a fully certified fire containment cover (FCC). TransDigm completes Telair Cargo acquisition
Cleveland-based aircraft parts maker TransDigm Group Inc. has completed the acquisition of the Telair Cargo Group of businesses from AAR Corp. for a total purchase price of US$725 million in cash, subject to adjustment. The acquisition was previously announced on 23 February 2015. Finnair to build new cargo terminal
Finnair plans to invest approximately €80 million (US$87.76 million) into a new cargo terminal at Helsinki Airport, near the airline’s technical operations area. Construction of the 377,000-square-foot facility is to begin immediately, with opening anticipated for spring 2017. CEB, Cargohaus tie up for cargo inspection portal
Cebu Pacific (CEB) and Cargohaus inaugurated the Smiths Detection CIP-300 air cargo inspection portal at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 yesteday. The air cargo inspection portal is the 'first of its kind' to be installed in an airport in Asia.
