AirAsia X, the long haul affiliate of Asia’s largest low cost airline, has signed a Memorandum of Understand (MOU) with Airbus for 50 A330-900neo aircraft. Singapore Airlines latest to end shark fin shipments
Singapore Airlines has followed the lead of other major airlines by announcing it will end the carriage of shipments of shark fins. "SIA Cargo has been carrying out a thorough review, taking into account the increasing concerns around the world related to shark finning. May cargo figures see continued growth: AAPA
Preliminary traffic figures for the month of May released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed healthy growth in demand for both air freight and international passenger markets. Etihad Cargo moved record volume in April and May, propelling it into the list of top 10 performing global air cargo operators, based on monthly WorldACD carrier rankings. In April, Etihad Cargo moved 44,730 tonnes of cargo, 30 per cent more than the 34,352 tonnes carried in the same period last year. Philippine-based budget carrier Cebu Pacific and unit Tiger Airways Philippines are seeking approval from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to launch flights to Myanmar.
