Carriers gear up for travel as cargo remains ‘bright spot’

March 30, 2021 by Payload Asia

Almost a month after Singapore Airlines tested the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Pass app for passengers arriving at Heathrow early in March, more carriers in Asia Pacific are following suit. And whilst this may be good news for the travel industry, it seems airlines along with its passenger side still have a lot on their plates. AAPA: Air cargo markets sustained recovery in November

January 8, 2021 by Payload Asia

Cargo volumes carried by Asia Pacific’s airlines increased for the third consecutive month in November, thanks to recovery in global manufacturing activity, according to the latest report from the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA). Buoyed by an acceleration in new export orders, international trade flows continued to rebound in November. However the demand was still down 11.3 percent year-on-year, AAPA noted. December 7, 2020 by Payload Asia

Asia Pacific airlines carried 13 percent less international cargo in October compared to a year ago even as business conditions continued to improve globally, according to the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA). Whilst international air cargo demand remained relatively firm, not the same could be said about the passenger side which absorbed the impact of border closures and travel restrictions and resulted to lack of bellyhold space and capacity shortages for air cargo … [Read more...] about Bellyhold shortage holds back air cargo market recovery in APAC
