Air China sees profits sink 32 per cent
Beijing-based Air China said net profit sank 32 per cent for the full year 2013 to 3.26 billion yuan (US$524.6 million) as revenue per passenger slid and air cargo operations bled from soft demand and overcapacity in the industry. Air China Cargo, in which Cathay Pacific Airways has a 49 per cent stake, continued to suffer from weak demand and overcapacity in the market, reporting losses of 349 million yuan for the period. ABC launches Dallas service, increases Chicago
Russia’s largest cargo carrier, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), is expanding its presence in the US market with the launch of B747-8F freighter flights linking Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) with Amsterdam and Moscow. The new twice-weekly all-cargo flights from Dallas/Fort Worth will operate to Amsterdam Schiphol and Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airports. SIA Cargo traffic continues to slide in Feb
Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo) continues to see declining freight traffic with an 8.1 per cent decline in volume for the month of February, year-on-year to 73.9 million kg from the 80.4 million kg it uplifted in February 2013.
