Trinidad-based Caribbean Airlines has added a new "third" cargo service to Trinidad from Miami starting from mid-June. The new flight is in direct response to an increased demand for cargo airlift between Trinidad and the US, the company said. Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines pilots reached a tentative agreement recently on a joint contract, a major milestone in the carriers' planned merger. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has announced that cargo landing fees at Toronto Pearson, the leading air cargo gateway in Canada, will be reduced by 25 per cent effective January 2009. Qantas reportedly will settle with botheuropean and Australian regulators over accusations of illegal price fixing as part of an international air freight cartel.
