AMERICAS: Boeing sees depressed sales through 2010
Boeing announced it has delivered 481 airplanes in 2009, but the recession and accompanying airline crisis fueled a collapse in new sales orders. The airframe manufacturer won 263 gross orders last year, but the total was reduced by 121 cancellations for a net total of 142 new orders for the year, the lowest number of orders since 1994, according to spokesman Jim Proulx. AMERICAS: Pemco expands into B757F conversions
Pemco World Air Services has announced it has reached an agreement to acquire the B757 cargo conversion operations and assets of Alcoa-SIE Conversions (ASCC). Under the agreement, Pemco will acquire key assets of ASCC including its Boeing 757-200 Supplemental Type Certificate. AMERICAS: ATA reports 36% drop in Q3 cost index
The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) released its quarterly Airline Cost Index recently, incorporating data through the third quarter of 2009 with the composite cost index falling 36 per cent to 185.3 in the third quarter of 2009, versus 289.7 in the same period of 2008.
