Astral Aviation to launch Mogadishu service
Astral Aviation will commence direct cargo service to Mogadishu, Somalia from its hub at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from 14 March. The all-cargo carrier will fly to the capital of Somalia weekly using DC9 freighters, which offer up to 15 tonnes of capacity. Kenya Air eyes $3.6B expansion
Kenya Airways will spend US$3.6 billion over the next five years on new aircraft and routes, mainly aimed at connecting Africa and Asia, its chief executive said has said. Growth in aviation and related security business is driving economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean where it has created more than four million jobs and contributed US$107 billion to national earnings, according to a report by the Air Transport Action Group and Oxford Economics.
