DHL Express is making minor tweaks to its air network in Asia Pacific to meet the ecommerce boom that has spread across the region, particularly in Vietnam and Malaysia. The express service provider will now operate direct flights to Penang (PEN) from its central Asian hub in Hong Kong (HGK), replacing the previous route connected via Ho Chi Minh (SGN). European aircraft manufacturer Airbus registered 302 net orders as of July-end after 67 cancellations, a press release confirmed. Four new orders were received for the month of July. Airbus inaugurates A330 Completion & Delivery Centre in China
Airbus has inaugurated its A330 Completion and Delivery Centre (C&DC) in Tianjin, China, in the expansion of its global footprint and strategic partnership with China. The first A330 to be delivered from the C&DC was also handled over to Tianjin Airlines. The aircraft which was assembled and equipped in Toulouse with Chinese and European staff is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines and is configured in two classes with 260 seats. Malaysia Airlines considering new widebody order
Malaysia Airlines is considering placing a new order for up to twenty-five widebody aircraft airline chief executive officer (CEO) Peter Bellew has said in an interview. According to Manila's The Star newspaper, Bellew said the A330 and A350 Families were currently under consideration along with the B787. A decision is due by the middle to end of next year, he said. Tianjin Airlines announced last week the arrival of its first widebody aircraft, an A330-200, bringing the carrier's fleet to 89 aircraft.
