In less than a year, the A350-1000 has received Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). First A350-1000 successfully completes first flight
The first of three A350-1000 development aircraft to fly – MSN059 – landed at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport France yesterday after successfully completing its first flight which lasted four hours and 18 minutes. Powered by Rolls-Royce's new Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft traversed south-western France, during which the crew explored the aircraft's handling and flight envelope. Airbus begins A350-1000 final assembly
Airbus has started final assembly of the first A350-1000 on schedule at the A350 XWB Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. This A350-1000, one of three flight test aircraft to be built, will take to the skies for its maiden flight before the end of 2016 with deliveries beginning in in mid-2017. Virgin Atlantic said be considering A350-1000 order
Virgin Atlantic is set to announce an order for up to twelve A350-1000s according to a report in Bloomberg. Quoting unnamed sources, the news wire said the UK carrier is expected to acquire nine of the aircraft with the remainder to be leased. The move, should reports prove accurate, is the result of Virgin’s analysis into replacements for its B747-400 fleet.
