Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s award-winning flag carrier, will launch services between Almaty and India’s commercial centre, Mumbai on 1st June 2020. Flights will be operated four times a week using Airbus A320, with a sector time of 4.5 hours in each direction. Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s leading carrier, has taken delivery of the first of seven Airbus A321LR (long range) aircraft under an operating lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation of the United States, with the remaining six aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next 12 to 18 months, depending on Airbus’ production capacity in Hamburg. Air Astana and S7 Airlines, Russia’s biggest private airline, have strengthened their cooperation by signing a codeshare agreement for flights between Russia and Kazakhstan. Effective for flights operated from 15th July 2019, Air Astana flights from its hubs at Nur-Sultan and Almaty, to Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg now carry the code of S7 Airlines. Air Astana, the award-winning Kazakh flag carrier, marked its sixteenth anniversary with the opening of a new Aviation Technical Centre at Astana’s Nursultan Nazarbayev international airport.
