Boeing 747 programme vice president and general manager Mo Yahyavi has said current testing on the 747-8F is proceeding well after completing initial air worthiness testing in mid-March. The US Department of Homeland Security could be years away from achieving its objective of 100 per cent screening for air cargo carried in the bellies of passenger aircraft. Strong performance in charter and scheduled air cargo markets helped Volga-Dnepr Group out-perform the industry average traffic figures in 2009, by a wide margin. After months of uncertainty following the declaration of its bankruptcy by its parent, Aeroflot Cargo has resumed flying a full freighter schedule. Aeroflot announced late last year that it was closing its separate cargo subsidiary, Aeroflot Cargo, declaring it bankrupt and absorbing back into the main group.
