AMERICAS: US airline revenues drop 19% in Feb
The revenues of US-based airlines plummeted in February for the fourth straight month as the recession continues to depress demand, according to a report from the Air Transport Association of America (ATA) representing 90 per centof major US carriers. Cargo traffic fell 21 per cent year-onyear in January, the latest data available, the ATA said. Alaska Airlines posted fourthquarter profits aided by the success of their cargo fleet and an increase in mail.
