Dubai ditches Auckland deal
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) and Auckland International Airport have scrapped a plan for the $1.8 billion takeover of New Zealand’s largestairport, reported Reuters. The announcement came as little surprise after DAE had said earlier that Auckland Airport had not done enough to promote the deal. It said a legal challenge by an airline over airport charges had breached the terms of the bid. Aviation minister Praful Patel tabled the bill for setting up Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) in view of the number of airports undergoing privatisation,the Times of India reports. Dalian spends US$20 million in 2006
Dalian, in northeastern China, has modernised its old airport terminal, expanding it by 65,000 square meters, and installing ten airbridges. Other work performed was the provision of 48 check-in counters, fi ve baggage conveyor systems and the western apron area was enlarged to cater for six more parking slots.
