PHILIPPINES: PAL to continue US flights despite downgrade
Philippine Airlines said it will continue to operate flights to the US despite a downgrading of the country to a Category 2 safety rating by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Qantas Freight has become a standalone entity after parent, Qantas established a holding company for the freight carrier. Qantas has transferred 50 per cent of its stake in the freight division to the new company Qantas FreightEnterprises. All Nippon Airways (ANA) is aiming to boost cargo sales by as much as seven-fold by 2015 to US$6.4 billion byjoining with Shanghai Airlines. (ANA), Japan's second-largest carrier, will set up an international cargo venture specialising in delivery to Asian countries, with two Japanese forwarders to takeadvantage of rising trade.
