Vietnam to restart Asian flights as it opens for business travel
Vietnam plans to restart international commercial flights to and from six Asian cities from mid-September, state media reported on 3 September. Flights to Guangzhou, Seoul, Vientiane, Phnom Penh, Taipei and Tokyo were proposed by the civil aviation authority. Japan Airlines joined a consortium of specialists that will test drive the use of drones for food and medicine delivery in Tokyo. Bloomberg Intelligence predicts belly capacity from passenger air fleets won’t return to pre-pandemic levels before 2022. Bloomberg says under normal circumstances, about 60 percent of global air cargo is flown in the belly hold of passenger flights. Global air cargo’s steady rally continues in August
Global air cargo was in its fourth straight month of growth in August as load factors jumped eight percentage points year on year, data from CLIVE Data Services and TAC Index showed.
