Lufthansa Cargo and Russia have reached an agreement that will see the German carrier move its regional transit hub from Astana in Kazakhstan to Krasnoyarsk in Siberia. Etihad Airways has launched a new pilot training initiative to ensure it will not be caught short of pilots as it expands in the future. Pressure to find new pilots is intensifying in the Middle East and Asia, with Asian carriers set to add almost 1.5 new aircraft a day to the regional fleet this year. Etihad Airways has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Ferrari F1 team, the current Formula One world championship holders. The airline's chief executive officer James Hogan signed the deal with the Ferrari F1 Grand Prix team, ahead of the opening Formula One race of the season in Melbourne on 16 March.
