Volga-Dnepr aid iron ore production increase in Canada

Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ outsize cargo specialists came up with an innovative solution to help the Canadian mining company Baffinland Iron Mines increase its iron ore production quota in 2017  at its Mary River operation in North Baffin, Nunavut, Canada.   In 2016, Baffinland achieved 3.2m tonnes of production and transportation of iron ore from the mine to the port site 100km away. Turkish Cargo adds two destinations

Turkish Cargo is offering new services to two cities: Chicago and Kuwait City. The all-cargo weekly flight to Chicago O’Hare will supplement the already healthy belly capacity currently available in multiple Turkish passenger flights to cities in both the US and Canada. The flight to Kuwait will also be operated once every week, heading non-stop to Kuwait City on Tuesdays and returning via Dubai World Central on the same day. Cargojet expands air freight network

Cargojet has announced the expansion of its domestic air cargo network effective 1 April 2015. The Canadian all-cargo carrier has a total freighter fleet of 24 aircraft, including the recent introduction of five B767-300ERFs, three B767-200ERFs and one B757-200ERF. LOT Cargo starts flights to US, Canada

LOT Cargo has launched a New York – Warsaw – New York freight route with an all-cargo B767-300 aircraft operated by Cargojet Airways. This year, flights are scheduled for January-April and October-December. For January and March, the company has planned weekly flights departing from New York (JFK) on Saturdays and from Warsaw on Sundays. Canada to screen cargo in passenger bellies

In a move mirroring steps already well underway in the US, the Canadian government has announced a C$96 million (US$88.8 million) plan aimed at improving the security of Canadian air cargo, citing the potential for terrorist attacks within the commercial cargo system. Open skies between EU and Canada ok’ed

European Union transport ministers have backed an 'open skies' aviation pact with Canada that will deregulate cargo and passenger services across the Atlantic, from 6 May this year. The accord will allow European and Canadian carriers to fly between any airport in the 27 nation EU and any Canadian airport and includes a provision for cargo carriers to fly onward to third countries from both the EU and Canada.
