Qatar Airways to restart London Gatwick flights on 20 August
Qatar Airways will restart daily flights to London Gatwick starting 20 August on fuel-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, according to a press release. With the addition of Gatwick, the airline operates 45 weekly flights landing on four airports, including Edinburgh (three weekly flights), Gatwick (daily flights), Heathrow (three daily flights) and Manchester (two daily flights). Azerbaijan-based cargo carrier Silk Way has taken delivery of its two new Boeing 747-8 freighters. The two aircrafts were delivered last week. Nine years after launching thrice weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Newark Airport via Stockholm, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) surprised many by announcing that it was suspending flights to New York due to what it said was low demand.
