Malaysia Airlines orders 25 B737 MAX 8s

Malaysia Airlines announced today an order for 25 B737 MAX 8 aircraft, valued at US$2.75 billion at current list prices. The order also includes purchase rights for additional B737 MAX 8 and B737 MAX 9s. Malaysia Airlines currently operates 56 737-800s. Malaysia Aviation Group names new CEO for Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd (MAG) has appointed Peter Bellew as the new group managing director and CEO of Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAS) in place of Christoph Mueller who resigned unexpectedly after serving about half his three-year term. Bellew, who is currently the chief operating officer, begins his term from tomorrow, 1 July. Malaysia Airlines CEO Mueller surprises with early resignation

In a surprise move Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) CEO and managing director Christoph Mueller has announced his departure from the airline effective September 2016, but intends to remain as its non-executive director. Malaysia Airlines Bhd to operate new A350-900s

The recently-relaunched Malaysian national carrier that was rebranded from Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) to Malaysia Airlines Berhard (MAB), has signed a contract with US-based Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for the long-term lease of four new A350-900s. MASkargo cuts Frankfurt, denies freighter sell off

After Malaysia Airlines’ recent announcement that it would discontinue its passenger flights to Frankfurt effective 29 May, the airline’s cargo arm, MASKargo, has also decided to discontinue its three times a week freighter flights to Frankfurt from 31 May. With the cancellation of the Frankfurt flights, the cargo carrier plans to add two freighter flights to Amsterdam, thus increasing the total number of cargo flights a week to Amsterdam to five from 31 May.
