Cathay Cargo’s tonnage climbed 9 percent in February versus January as flights returned, with demand gradually recovering following the Lunar New Year holidays. The airline carried 103,932 tonnes of cargo in February, an increase of 59.6 percent compared with the same month last year, when Cathay’s capacity was significantly reduced due to stricter aircrew quarantine measures. Cathay to launch HK-Madrid pax service next year
Cathay Pacific Airways announced a new four-times-weekly service to Spanish capital of Madrid, from 2 June 2016, subject to government approval. The new service, operated with B777-300ERs will be the only direct link between Hong Kong and Madrid and will also offer belly cargo opportunities.
