China posted GDP growth of 8.9 per cent in the third quarter of the year, up from 7.9 per cent growth in the second quarter, Bloomberg reported. Global airline capacity for September 2009 is showing positive growth for the second consecutive month, reports OAG. The world's airlines have scheduled 296.9 million seats, a rise of 1.4 per cent (4.1 million more seats) over September 2008 levels. Global semiconductor industry looking up
The global semiconductor industry is seeing growth despite rough beginnings this year. According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), worldwide chip sales reached US$22.2 billion in July 2008, up 2.8 per cent sequentially, and an increase of 7.6 per cent on-year.
