Qatar Airways has added a second daily, non-stop flight along its popular John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) - Hamad International Airport (DOH) route. The new route features the new A350 and the flight represents the tenth Qatar Airways route between Doha and the United States. Qatar begins eight flights a week to Birmingham
Qatar Airways has inaugurated the airline’s fourth UK gateway with direct flights between Doha and Birmingham using B787 Dreamliners. The inaugural flight touched down at sunrise on 30 March and was greeted by a traditional water salute. The addition of Birmingham marks the fourth UK gateway for Qatar Airways after London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh, with the eight weekly services operated by the B787 Dreamliner aircraft. Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) handled cargo tonnage amounting to 242,513 tonnes in the third quarter of 2015 with 79,408 tonnes of cargo handled in the month of July, 80,766 tonnes in August and 82,338 tonnes of cargo handled in September of 2015. Qatar Airways Cargo will launch an express airfreight service for door-to-door and time-critical shipments. Cargo numbers have increased at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA), with an additional 12.76 per cent traffic in July.
