HKIA’s cargo volume dips 4.4 percent in September
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) reported a slide in cargo volume for September despite uptick in imports and exports as capacity remains constrained. The world’s busiest air cargo hub saw freighter movements improve from last month’s 21.5 percent, up 25 percent compared to the same month last year. Significant growth for HKIA in first half of 2017
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) recorded growth in all three air traffic categories in the first half of 2017, highlighted by significant growth in cargo throughput. From January to June this year, HKIA handled 2.3 million tonnes of cargo, soaring 11.3% over the same period last year. HKIA sees cargo growth of 7.1% in October
Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) tonnage grew year-on-year (YOY) by 7.1 per cent in October to 420,000 tonnes in the month. The strong growth was mainly attributed to the robust 13 per cent YOY growth in transhipments. Among the key trade lanes, traffic to and from Europe and Southeast Asia increased most significantly during the month, HKIA reports.
